Obituary of Dorothy Murray

Dorothy Tingen Murray, 90, died Wednesday evening, January 13, 2010 at Rex Healthcare.

Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service and other times at the home.

A native of Apex, Dorothy was the last surviving child of Obadiah and Mary Rogers Tingen. She was a bookkeeper with Dillon Supply Co. before she began working alongside her husband, the late Fred F. Murray, in their nursery business where she personally nurtured thousands of varieties of azaleas and camelias but her true love was that of being a homemaker and caring for her family.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Ann M. Watson of Wilson and Lynn Murray of Raleigh; son, Ben A. Murray of Fuquay-Varina; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, David G. Murray.
