Obituary of Dorothy Matthews

Friday morning, August 17, 2012 Dorothy Perry Matthews, 91, of Raleigh, departed this world peacefully with family by her side to join her loving husband of 46 years, Mr. Lewis G. Matthews who preceded her in death.

A Graveside Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 19, 2012 at Montlawn Memorial Park.

Born July 25, 1921 in Wake County, NC, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Leland Wilmer Perry and Corrie Horton Perry. In addition to parents, she was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Laford "John" and "Cyclone" Mack Perry; 5 sisters, Erma Perry Jones, Willie Perry Richards, Lucille Perry Privette, Savon Perry Horton, and Vera Ruth Perry Ambrose.

Dorothy is survived by one sister, Evelyn Perry Minor of Cedar Island, NC and many nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was a highly regarded beautician for 60 plus years. She was an owner of College Court Beauty Shop on Hillsborough Street in Raleigh.

Memorials may be made in memory of Dorothy to a charity of your choice.
