Obituary of Durward Nichols

Durward Shelton "Nick" Nichols, Jr., 72, died peacefully Monday morning, July 12, 2010 at his beach home in Salter Path.

Funeral Service will be held 3 p.m. Thursday at Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Montlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

A native of Wilson County, Nick was a graduate of Needham Broughton High School and attended North Carolina State University. He served his country honorably in the Unites States Army and was a biblical scholar. He owned a corporate housing company until his retirement.

Nick is survived by his wife, Beverly Jackson Nichols; daughters, Adrianne Nichols of New Jersey, Rebekah Nichols Mealey of Florida; grandchildren, William, Patrick and Andrew Hopper; Anthony, Jason and Ava Rapisardi; Jennie and Jamie Mealey; brother, Ronald Nichols of High Point and his sister, Lynn Nichols Yokeley of Raleigh. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Nichols Hopper.
