Dwight Marshall Mims, 76, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 13 at Transitions LifeCare after a brave battle with Parkinson's Disease.
Dwight served 6 years in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve. He retired as a Project Analyst after 34 years with Progress Energy. Dwight was a Raleigh native and a graduate of Broughton High School and W.W. Holding Technical Institute.

He was deeply loved and is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patricia; children Heather, Marshall and Holly; and grandchildren, Brianna, Kayden, Ezra, Paige, Aubrey, and Logan; his sister Carolyn and nephews Brian and Tyler; sister-in-law Jane, and many cousins.

Services will be held on Friday, February 21 at 1:00 p.m. at Montlawn Funeral Home. The visitation will begin at noon. The family wishes to thank the staff at Transitions LifeCare for their kindness and support.
