Obituary of Earl Waters

Earl G. Waters, Sr., 91, died Wednesday, July 3, 2013. He was born March 3, 1922 in Beaufort County the son of the late Lester V and Eva Gaskins Waters. He was also preceded in death by his son Earl Glenn Waters Jr., and a brother Jatha Vann Waters. Earl served his country honorably during World War II in the United States Army.

A funeral service will be held 10:30 am Saturday, July 6, 2013 at Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel, With Rev. Kermit Braswell, Rev. Johnny Wright and Rev. Claire Clyburn officiating. Burial will follow the service at Montlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Friday, July 5, 2013 at Montlawn Funeral Home.

Earl is Survived by his wife of 70 years Lydia D. Waters, sons: Larry R Waters and wife, Diane of Cary, Kenneth Waters and wife, Kathryn of Raleigh; grandchildren, Kim Waters Gold, Corey Lyn Waters , Larry Waters, Jr., Kenneth Waters Jr., and Greg Wrench; daughter-in-law Ondra Waters of Cary; great-grandchildren, Vanessa C Wilson, Kacey Wrench and Jansen Wrench; brothers, Eugene Waters and wife, Jane of Cary; sister, Lois M. Greene of Richmond, VA; Sister-in-law Frances Waters of Richmond; numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Westover United Methodist Church, 300 Powell Drive., Raleigh, NC 27606.
