Although she is one of God's angels now, it is with great sorrow Edna Clement Boone from Raleigh, NC passed away after a brief illness.
Edna was born in Mocksville, NC – Davie County to Nora Deans and Johnson Lee Clement. She was raised in Mocksville, Goldsboro and Raleigh. After her husband passed, she lived in Morehead City for the last 13 years and recently moved back to Raleigh to be close to her family.
She is predeceased by her husband of 63 years, George Robert Boone. Edna and George knew each other from their teen years and were high school sweethearts. She was a very devoted and loving mother to Bob Boone (Jewelle), Tim Boone (Judy), LeeAnne Boone Bolton (Doug) and Dawn Boone. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. Rush Boone, Matthew Boone (Natalie), David Boone (Jena), Lauren Boone, MSgt C. Hill Boone, USMC, Katherine Boone and Drew Moeller (Kalyn). She had 4 great-grandchildren, Karlie Norman, Beckett and Harper Boone, Nora Lane and a little Moeller on the way. She also had a very special kinship with many extended family members and family friend Billie Williams.
A highlight in Edna's life was when she was employed at NCSU Student Supply Store. She always offered a helping hand to students. She made lifelong friendships with her coworkers. Her memories of their times together were very special and full of laughter. She was an avid Wolfpack fan. Edna also shared 50+ fun years with her bridge group. Edna had a sense of humor that tickled her grandchildren. She loved to have her family all together. She was an independent and creative woman and loved to explore new ventures until her senior years caught up with her. She left behind memories that will be cherished a life time.
A celebration of life service will be held graveside at Montlawn Memorial Park on January 28th at 2 o'clock with visitation afterwards.
