Mrs. Edna Kirby Thomas Marshall of Garner NC, formerly of Stokesdale NC passed peacefully on Sunday June 1st at Transitions Hospice Home Raleigh NC after a brief illness.
Mrs. Marshall was born September 29 1928 to George Cabel Kirby and Ola McSherry Kirby in Roxboro NC.

Edna toiled her entire life. A farm wife, seamstress, grocery clerk, accounting clerk, and personnel administrator she retired from Burlington Industries. Edna took great pride in her gardening, her skills evident in her beautiful yard where she continued to work until very recently.

Edna was preceded in death by husbands Charles C Thomas, Sr. and Troy Marshall. By brother George C Kirby, Jr. and her loving daughter Sherry L. Thomas.

Edna is survived by her son Charles Thomas, granddaughter Kathryn Chapman husband Joe and great grandchildren Jacob and Levi Chapman. By her sister Evelyn Kirby Young of Greensboro NC. By numerous nieces and nephews and her close friend Joyce Flowers.

The family plans a small internment service. Edna will be buried beside her husband Charles.
The family suggests that in lieu of flowers those wishing to express their gratitude for Edna's life make a charitable contribution to the cause of their choosing.
