Obituary of Edward Bullard

Edward Lamar Bullard, 73, of Raleigh, passed away Saturday morning, October 10, 2009.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Carolina Pines Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Montlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the church from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. prior to the service.

A native of Sampson County, Lamar was the son of the late George Thomas and Esther Gilchrist Bullard. Mr. Bullard retired in 1995 from the State of North Carolina as a computer operations manager with over 30 years of service. He was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Allen Bullard; nephew, Gary Bullard, a precious niece, Lynette Hairr and a special aunt, Mannie Carden.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Jewell Nunnery Bullard; son, Troy Lamar Bullard and his wife, Jennifer Shofner Bullard and his beloved grandchildren, Olivia Jewell Bullard and Johnathon Shofner Bullard, all of Four Oaks. Also surviving are his sister, Mary Elizabeth Hairr and her husband, Homer of Salemburg; brother, Amos Murray Bullard and his wife Betty Lou of Autryville; sister in-law, Betty Clara Spell Bullard and many loving nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to Carolina Pines Baptist Church, 2655 South Saunders Street, Raleigh, NC 27603.

The family gives special thanks to his nurses, Joan Frank and Beatrice Kahihi and the nurses and CNA's of the memory services unit of the Oaks of Carolina for their compassionate care during Mr. Bullard's illness.
