Edward Hill Williams, MSgt. USAF (retired)
Edward Hill Williams, 88., passed away peacefully, Friday evening, October 10, 2008.
A native of Jackson, Mississippi, he was born July 26, 1920 to the late Earl K. and Ethel Morris Williams. He retired as a Master Sergeant from the US Air Force, where he served in WWII and the Korean Conflict. Mr. Williams was also an active member of St. Josephs Catholic Church, where he volunteered with Catholic Parish Outreach, Catholic Golden Age, and St. Josephs Senior Adults.
Mr. Williams is survived by his wife Mary Catherine Chatham Williams; children Edward Williams Jr. and wife Jean, of Raleigh, Mary Therese Tate, of Raleigh, Martha Lanham, of Raleigh, Patricia Egger and husband Michael, of Newark, Ohio, Stephen Williams and wife Cynthia, of North Canton, Ohio, and Lawrence Williams, of Raleigh; 15 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son John Chatham WIlliams.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 15, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Josephs Catholic Church, 2817 Poole Road, Raleigh, NC 27610. A prayer service will be held Monday, October 14, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. at Montlawn Funeral Home. Interment will be at Montlawn Memorial Park.
