Edwin Harold Hutchins

June 15, 1924 - December 27, 2018

Edwin Harold Hutchins, 94, of Raleigh passed away Thursday at his home. He was born in Wake County the son of the late John Henry Hutchins and Ellamae Harward Hutchins. Edwin was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army Corps of Engineers.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Nellie Ann Smith Hutchins. Edwin is survived by his daughters: Beverly Ann Johnson and husband Phil of Clayton, Teresa Nickens and husband Mark of Sandy Ridge, sons, Felix Hutchins and wife Cindy of Tulsa, OK, Hans Hutchins and wife Stacy serving in the mission field, Eric Hutchins and wife Faith-Renee of Dunn, George Hutchins and wife Deborah of Raleigh, sister; Bettie Scott of New York, brother; Jim Hutchins of Garner. He is survived by 18 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 10 am to 11 am Monday December 31, 2018 at Fairview Baptist Church in Apex, funeral services will be held following visitation  at 11 am at the church. Burial will follow at 1 pm Tuesday January 1, 2019 in the Ephraim Pittman Cemetery, Selma.

The family request that memorial contributions be made to the Fairview Baptist Church Debt Retirement Fund, 5608 Ten Ten Road, Apex, NC 27539.
