Obituary of Elender James

Elender Carraway James, 85, of Garner, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, August 9, 2011. She was surrounded by her family. Elender James was the daughter of the late Mady & Sudie Carraway of Goldsboro. Elender was a dedicated employee of Pearce Brothers Roofing for 43 years, retiring August 2007. A dedicated member of Ernest Myatt Presbyterian Church, she received the Presbyterian Women Honorary Life Membership on August 28, 1997. Mrs. James was predeceased by her husband David James; daughter, Patricia James Dupree; sisters, Correnner C. West, Cleo C. Wynn, Reba C. Sills; brothers, Connie, Braxton, Milton, John and Glenn Carraway. She is survived by daughters Brenda James Hodges and husband Bill, Sandra Cleo James and Anita Carol James; grandchildren, Art Jones, Denise Jones Foldes, Michelle Hodges Bordeaux, Tammy Hodges Morris and Greg Hodges; great-grandchildren, Marc Jones, Jackie Foldes Dillon, Nick, Neil, Dustin and Gregory Foldes, Alex and Josh Bordeaux; great great-grandchidren, Ashton Dillon and Kayla Foldes.

Funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday, August 12, 2011 at Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00-3:00 p.m. Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Elender's name to Ronald McDonald House at 506 Alexander Avenue, Durham, NC 27705-4760. Arrangements are by Montlawn Funeral Home, 2911 S.
