Obituary of Elizabeth Jahr
Elizabeth Heffner Jahr, 92, of Raleigh, formerly of Ocala, Florida, died Monday, March 12, 2012 at Mayview Convalescent Center.
A private burial will be held at St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Ocala, Florida in April.
A native of Reading, PA, Mrs. Jahr was born March 5, 1920, the daughter of the late Robert and Mabel Hess Heffner. She was a graduate of the Lutheran Bible Institute in Minneapolis, MN prior to entering nursing school at the Allentown Hospital School of Nursing. Upon graduation, she enlisted in the United States Army and served as a registered nurse at military bases in the United Kingdom and France during World War II.
Mrs. Jahr is survived by her daughters, Judy Rogers of Raleigh, Josey Warrington of Wilmington; step daughters, Constance Jahr of Archer, FL, Val Cope of Charlotte; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
