Elizabeth "Lib" Jones, 98, passed away on June 17, 2021. She was born on August 29, 1922.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday June 23, 2021 at Montlawn Memorial Park.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband Charles Jacob Jones, Jr. and her daughter Elizabeth "Libby" Louisa Jones. Also preceding her death were her parents Sallie Steelman Godbey and James Maurice Godbey, as well as her sisters Maureen Godbey Mock and Louise Godbey Fleming.

Surviving Elizabeth is her daughter Mary (Paul) Roberts of Raleigh, her grandsons Ryan (Ginny) Roberts of Raleigh and David (Megan) Roberts of Holly Springs. Elizabeth is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Ford, McLain, Nora and Landon Roberts.

Elizabeth was born in Winston Salem, NC in 1922 and graduated from Mineral Springs High School in 1939. She attended Salem College and graduated from Women's College (now University of North Carolina at Greensboro) with a major in music. She taught music in the public schools in Hamlet, NC before moving to Garner, NC. There she taught piano lessons until her retirement. She was also the organist at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church in Garner for many years.
