Obituary of Elizabeth Shepard

Elizabeth Sigman Shepard, 88, of Raleigh went into the loving arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Monday morning, December 31, 2012 at Wake Medical Center in Cary.

A Service of love and remembrance will be held 12:30 p.m., Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11-12:30 p.m. prior to the service.

Following the Service, the family would like to invite everyone to join them for an extended celebration of Elizabeth's life at Carolina Barbecue, 733 Hwy 70 E, Garner, NC.

Born June 4, 1924 in Atlanta, GA, she was the daughter of the late P.H. and Harriet Sigman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 43 years, Vernie Shepard; and a brother, Daniel Sigman.

Elizabeth is survived by her son, Tim Shepard; daughter, Harriet Shepard Burgess; grandson, Billy Burgess and wife Julie; great-grandchildren, Noah and Savannah Burgess; brother, Hal Sigman; and much extended family.

Flowers are welcomed or memorial contributions may be made in memory of Elizabeth to the SPCA of Wake Co., 200 Petfinder Lane Raleigh, NC 27603 OR the Durham Rescue Mission, 507 East Knox Street Durham, NC 27701.
