Ellen Travis Bradshaw Hall found peace as she ended her battle with dementia on March 31, 2023. She
was born in Newton Grove, NC on February 20, 1937 to the late Anna Monk Bradshaw and Romie
Garland Bradshaw.
She met the love of her life, Arthur Hall, on a blind date and they married a year later on July 3, 1957.
She leaves behind her loving husband of 66 years, daughters Arlene Travis Hall Wilson (Steve), Anna
Hall-Lloyd (Dennis) and Patty Hall Young (Randy). Ellen also leaves behind four grandchildren, Hilary
Wilson Pearce, Mitchell Wilson (Rebecca), Nathan Lloyd (Kate) and Ryan Lloyd and six great-
grandchildren, Bryson, Avery and Gracie Pearce, Wiley and Cullen Lloyd and Sylvia Wilson.
Ellen was a dedicated State Employee for over 30 years before she retired in December of 1997. She
spent many years working for the Department of Administration with the State Computer Center
Management Information Services. Every programmer who walked up to the input output window for
their tapes and printouts were greeted with a bright and cheery smile.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the doctors, nurses, CNAs and staff at Wake Med
Garner, Wake Med Raleigh and especially PruittHealth in Raleigh for the compassionate care provided to
Ellen during her final weeks. A special thank you also goes out to the amazing Hospice team who helped
both Ellen and her family through the final days.
A private graveside service will be held for the immediate family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Ellen to the Alzheimer's Association for
dementia research.
