Eloise Stallings Partin, beloved mother, grandmother and aunt, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2017 at the remarkable age of 104.

Born in Snow Hill, NC to Sudie and Walter Stallings on April 27, 1913, Eloise grew up with seven siblings on the family farm near Selma, NC. After high school, she moved to Raleigh, worked steadily and helped herself and two sisters through Hardbarger's Business College, where she was appointed Principal of Accounting in 1932. After nearly 10 years of teaching, she declined an offer to direct the college; instead she stayed home to raise her son and help her husband, Fred, Sr., manage their family business. While Fred, Jr. was in college, she returned to the workforce and became Administrative Assistant, both to the Director of Communications and the Director of Student Housing for N.C. State College.

For almost 60 years, Eloise was a devoted member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, where she taught kindergarten and Sunday school classes. Her husband a Mason, she was also a proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Eloise especially enjoyed birdwatching, gardening, crossword puzzles, cooking, and hosting family get-togethers on her large back porch. She will be lovingly remembered for her generosity and complete devotion to her son, her husband, and her extended family.

The family is deeply grateful for the care Eloise received for many years from Home Choice Health Care, and most recently The Oaks at Mayview and Hospice of Wake County.

Eloise was predeceased in 1983 by her husband of 45 years, B. Fred Partin.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Jean Partin, and granddaughter, Kelli Partin, of Raleigh, NC; sister Hettie Wilson of Cary, NC; brother J.W. Stallings of Windsor, NC; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, December 1, 2017 at 2:00pm, followed by interment at Montlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1-2pm prior to the service.
