Elvie Effler Lowery, 87, of Garner passed away Monday, July 24, 2017. She was born in Busick, NC in Yancey County on October 16, 1929 to the late Alfred and Mae Bell Hughes Effler. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Willard Lowery and 15 siblings.

Mrs. Lowery retired from ITT/Alcatel and also worked at Sam's Club for 10 years.

She is survived by three sons, Terry Lowery and wife Jean of Clayton, Ronnie Lowery and wife Elena of Apex, and Dwight Lowery and wife Marcia of Clayton, a daughter, Sharon Jones of Raleigh, seven grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, July 27th at 2:00 P.M. in the Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel in Raleigh. The family will receive friends Thursday at the funeral home from 1:00 - 2:00 P.M.
