Obituary of Emily Clifton

Emily Lipford Clifton, 83, of Raleigh died Wednesday morning, January 27, 2010 at Rex Hospital.

Funeral Service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Montlawn Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Private entombment will be in the Chapel of Memories Mausoleum at Montlawn Memorial Park.

A native of Alton, VA, Emily was the daughter of the late Charlie Franklin Lipford and Annie Betty Smart Lipford. She was a charter member of Forest Hills Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Clifton in 2008.

Mrs. Clifton is survived by her sons, Robert L. "Bo" Clifton, Jr. and wife, Mary of Willow Spring; Benjamin C. Clifton of Raleigh; William E. Moss-Clifton and wife, Brenda of Angier; grandson, Robert L. "Bebo" Clifton III of Wake Forest; granddaughter, Shannon N. Stuart of Willow Spring and her great grandchildren, Nicholas T.C. Stuart; MaKayla L. Stuart; Bailie R. Phipps and Lacey L. Phipps.

The family would like to offer their appreciation and gratitude for the loving and compassionate care provided to Mrs. Clifton by Hospice of Wake County and the Hospice Unit at Rex Healthcare.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that memorial contributions be made to Forest Hills Baptist Church or Hospice of Wake County.
