Emily Shirley Johnson, 90, of Fayetteville, NC, died Friday, October 13, 2023, at her home. Shirley was preceded in death by her sisters
Lucille Morgan, Doris Schuck, and Peggy Cannon and her brother Douglas Johnson. Shirley is survived by three sons, Alan Maggio, of
Fayetteville, NC; Jerry (Pamela) Maggio, of Colorado Springs, CO; and Michael (Deborah) Maggio of Broken Arrow, OK, and three daughters,
Lisa (Joe) Cain, of St. Pauls, NC; Julie Maggio, of Fayetteville, NC and Stacy (Larry) Nichols of Macon, GA; 10 grandchildren, 11 great-
grandchildren; sister, Helen Todd of Las Vegas, NV and brother, David Johnson, of Youngsville, NC. She was a devoted mother and homemaker
to her beloved family. Shirley was a longtime member of St. James Lutheran Church where she contributed to the ministry through her
roles as a Cub Scouts' Den Mother of Troop 747, Sunday school teacher, choir member, and hospitality committee member. After
retiring from Civil Service at Ft. Bragg, she enjoyed spending time reading, crocheting, and visiting family and friends. A graveside service
will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 18, at Montlawn Memorial Cemetery in Raleigh, NC.
