Obituary of Ethel Bailey

Ethel E. Bailey, 85, of Raleigh, passed away Friday morning, May 25, 2012 at Uni-Health.

A Funeral Service will be held 2:00 p.m., May 27, 2012 at Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 - 8 p.m., Saturday, May 26, 2012.

Born January 25, 1927 in Wake County, NC, Ethel was the daughter of the late Jennings Bryan Eatman and Zula Mae Pollard. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, John Wilson Bailey.

Ethel is survived by her sons, Jerold Bailey and wife Delain of Raleigh, James Bailey and wife Eloise of Fuquay Varina; granddaughters, Amy Norris, Nichol O'Brien, Annette Brothers, and Jennifer Bailey; great-grandchildren, Amy Bailey, Aidan Bailey, Christopher O'Brien, Cassidy O'Brien, and Connor Brothers; and a sister, Dorothy Barden of Raleigh.

She graduated from Cary High School and later became a Manager at the NC Center for mature Adults, where she worked for 12 years. Ethel also worked as a secretary for 12 years at Inwood Baptist Church, where she was a faithful member. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
