Obituary of Eugene Watkins

Eugene Perry "Gene" Watkins, Jr., 60, of Holly Springs, died Wednesday evening, March 14, 2012 at his home.

A celebration of his life will be held at his home at a later date.

A native of Raleigh, Gene was born January 21, 1952, the son of Eugene and Rachel Barham Watkins who survive him. He worked at the Harris Teeter Grocery Store in Fuquay-Varina for over 22 years and was a beloved associate who will be missed by his many friends at work.

In addition to his parents, Gene is survived by his dear friends, caregivers and neighbors, Larry and Shannon Parker as well as one sister, Sharlene Miles and her husband Craig of Florida.
