Obituary of Eula Patterson
Eula R. Patterson was born on October 5, 1928 in Orangeburg, SC. Although South Carolina was her birthplace, having moved to New York City at the age of 2, she considered herself a native New Yorker.Mother was a talented artist, devoted wife and mother. She worked as a custodian for the NC School System until she retired. She was married to Marion Patterson, Sr. for 38 years. Their marriage brought together two families, daughter Renee Bell (Harold) of Raleigh and four step children Mary Shotwell (Bob) of Kernersville, Roager Patterson (Dolores) of Raleigh, Marion Patterson, Jr. of Elizabethtown, and Claiborne Patterson of New York.
In their marriage were born 3 children, Conrad Patterson (Dessa) of Zebulon, Marilyn Walker (Wiley) of Fayetteville and Lisa Patterson of Raleigh.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Khary Patterson of Georgia, Craig Bell of Georgia, Conrad R. Patterson of Louisiana, Travis Patterson of Raleigh, Kareem Patterson of Arizona, Divanna Patterson of Georgia, Tanisha Bell of Georgia, Courtney Patterson of Zebulon, Ashley Wake of Winston- Salem and Diamond Walker of Fayetteville; 12 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Marion Patterson, Sr., sisters, Renell and Mary and borther, Leroy.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Montlawn Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 1-2 pm on Wednesday prior to the service.
