Obituary of Frances Cox

Frances Ann Cox of Raleigh, NC passed away at the age of 73 on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at her home surrounded by her adoring family.

A Funeral Service will be held 6:00 p.m., Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel.

The family will receive friends 5-6:00 p.m., Saturday, prior to the service.

Born July 22, 1939 Frances Ann Ross in Somerville Massachusetts to her late parents Frank and Grace Ross. She met Boyce W. Cox who was serving in the Army and they later married in Massachusetts, where they began a family. They later moved to Raleigh, North Carolina. Frances worked at Kings Dept. store then Winn Dixie from which she retired after 30 years of service. She also was a volunteer at the Garner Senior Center for years where she made many dear friends. Throughout our Mother's life she always carried a smile and made others laugh with her warm and loving charm.

Frances is preceded in death by her niece Vanessa Connolly of Massachusetts. She is survived by her son Lee Cox and companion Christi Colucci of Willow Springs, son Derrick Cox, daughter Deborah Cox, two grandsons Tyler and Eric Cox all from Raleigh, sister-in-law Sharon Griffin and her husband Wade, niece Shannon, of Selma, NC, Pam, Patrick, Brian, Matthew, great nieces Jennifer and Jill, a dear cousin Jean all from Massachusetts, and her loving cat Sam-e.
