Obituary of Frederick Ashbaugh

Frederick Lee "Fred" Ashbaugh, 82, of Raleigh, passed away, Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at Rex Hospital surrounded by those he loved, and who dearly loved him.

Born June 7, 1930 in Franklin, PA, he was the son of the late Jack Ashbaugh and Mable O'Connell Ashbaugh.

Fred was survived by his wife Judith Dunn Ashbaugh; daughters, Hope Ashbaugh Aubert (Mike), Kendra Boster Madigan (Mike); sons, Andrew Ashbaugh, Christopher Boster (Melissa), Matthew Boster (Cary); grandchildren, Melody Ashe, Elissa Boster, Cole Boster, Kaylen Boster, and Lianna Boster; sister, Kaye Kelly.

Fred was a 20 year veteran of the United States Navy and retired in 1967. He retired from Cooper Industries in 1994. Fred was an avid fisherman and never felt more at home than when on his boat at Cape Lookout.

A Celebration of Fred's life will be held at a later date.
