Furman E. Wade Jr., born August 31, 1942 in Raleigh, NC, lost his battle with cancer at the age of 71 on July 16, 2014 at home surrounded by his family.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lonnie and Lillie Wade and Luther and Rosa Cleaver, his parents, Furman E. Wade Sr. and Rosalie Blake, and his great-granddaughter, Angel Nicole Hannah.
He is survived by his only sister, Sandra Stafford, his two daughters, Terisa Hall and Heather Humphrey, five granddaughters, Jennifer Hannah and Tiffany, Amanda, Haylie, and Makayla Humphrey, and four great-grandsons, Shawn and Everett Hannah and Braeden and Jake Gentzel.
Furman served in the United States Army from 1959-1965. Furman, known to his friends as "Buck" and to his family as "Junior" or "Noonie," loved fishing and hiking with his family. He loved visiting White Lake and the North Carolina coast. He never missed an opportunity to spend quality time with his family around any body of water. He loved visiting the Flea Market, where he enjoyed just walking around, and as he would say, "looking at other peoples junk."
We will celebrate his homecoming on Thursday July 24, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel at Montlawn Funeral Home.
