Garry Proctor Watkins, 64, passed away on January 15th 2022, at Central Harnett Hospital in Lillington, NC. He was born the youngest son on October 1, 1957 at Rex Hospital in Raleigh to Erma Dean Liggins.

Erma later married Edward Phipps, who had a daughter, Diane, from a previous marriage. Edward raised, along with his daughter Diane, Roy, Connie, and Garry as his own. Garry had one child, Daniel Roy Watkins, with Elizabeth Vajda Engel (Daughtry). Garry is predeceased by his parents Erma and Edward, and also his brother Roy. He is survived by his son Daniel Roy Watkins, and Daniel's sister and brother; Catherine Engel Denmark and Jeffery Daughtry JR. Also surviving is sister Connie Sue Long, her husband William Long, sister Diane Woodby, her husband Keith Woodby, and their daughter Amanda Woodby.

Garry was a very hard worker and had many jobs in his life. But he really loved to be on the road driving and making deliveries. When he was not working, he had many passions and hobbies. When the weather was right, he loved to go fishing, whether it be at a local pond or on a pier at the beach. When it came to the start of winter, you could not keep him off the TV watching the Pittsburgh Steelers play football. In the summer months, he would always be riding the roads on his motorcycle, cruising anywhere and everywhere on two wheels.

Garry will be loved and missed by friends and family.
