Obituary of Gary Owens

Gary Lee Owens went to be with his Heavenly Father, December 20, 2013 after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Born March 26, 1944, he was the son of the late Louie and Irma Owens. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son Gary Lee Owens, Jr., and a brother Bobby Owens.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Billie Ann Stephens Owens; son Gary Lynn Owens and his wife Shannon; three wonderful grandchildren, Madison, Reagan and Gavin Owens; sisters, Rachel O. Johnson and her husband Vernon, and Christine Lane; many nieces, nephews, and friends. Gary was a 1962 graduate of Millbrook High School.

Family will receive friends at their home in Youngsville, NC. A Memorial Service will be held 1:00 p.m., Monday, December 23, 2013 at Mary's Chapel Baptist Church, 3500 Bruce Garner Road, Wake Forest, NC.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Wake County for all the love and support and the many friends that helped out in the last few weeks. A special thanks to Dr. Jeffrey Crane and his staff with Rex Cancer Center, Raleigh, NC.
