Obituary of George Moore

George Elliott Moore, 76, of Raleigh, passed away Friday Evening, February 17, 2012 at Oak Hill Living Center in Angier.

A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 23, 2012 at Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 - 2 p.m. Thursday, prior to the service.

Born November 20, 1935 in Franklin County, NC, George was the son of the late Woodrow Wilson Moore and Katy Nell Bunn Moore.

George is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Spivey Moore of Raleigh; daughter, Sharon Moore Pullen and husband Robert of Wake Forest; son, Todd Elliott Moore and wife Ginny of Raleigh; grandchildren, Jordan, David, John, Lydia, and Greta.

He graduated from Needham Broughton High School in 1954 and University of North Carolina Chapel Hill in 1962. George served his country in the United States Marine Corps., later becoming CEO of North Carolina Medical Society, retiring in 1993. After retirement he obtained his contracting license as a hobby and was an avid golfer.
