Obituary of Georgia Watkins
Georgia Brooks Watkins, 86, died Sunday at Wellington Nursing Center. She was born November 16, 1926 in Wake County to Richard Nathaniel Brooks and Alma Wall Brooks. Her mother died when Georgia was very young and she was raised by her step mother, Mamie Faison Brooks. She was a retired employee with Westinghouse in Raleigh with over 30 years of service.
A private graveside service will be held on Wednesday at Montlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Montlawn Funeral Home from 6-8 pm Tuesday, December 4, 2012.
Surviving are her sisters, Peggy Wall and Edna Fagan of Knightdale, Bernice Cook of Quincy, California and Willie Ruth Watson of Candor, NC; granddaughters, Tonya Brady and husband George of Holly Springs and Tara Saul and husband Peter of Raleigh; great-granddaughters, Ashley, Kayley, Karli and Brinkli; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Watkins; daughter, Dianne W. Yarbrough; brother, Harold Brooks.
Memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice, 3200 Atlantic Avenue, Suite 100, Raleigh, NC 27604.
