Obituary of Geraldine Evans

Geraldine Barbour Evans, 80 of Garner, passed away Friday, January 30, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family.

Born May 19, 1934 in Johnston County, she was the daughter of the late Jessie Gaston and Nora Ellis Barbour. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Jeff W. Evans, 4 brothers, and 5 sisters.

Geraldine is survived by her loving husband of 57 wonderful years, Charles W. Evans; daughter, Pamela Charlene Ribeiro; daughter-in-law, Laurie Kemper; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brother, Cecil R. Barbour; and many nieces and nephews.

Geraldine bravely fought her illness for 10 years. She will truly be missed by her family and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Montlawn Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
