Obituary of Glenn Kirchner

Glenn William Kirchner, 57, of Cary and Holden Beach, died Wednesday evening, January 6, 2010 at his home after a valiant 11 month battle with pancreatic cancer.

Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Christ Episcopal Church, 130 E. Edenton Street, Raleigh with entombment following at Montlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Montlawn Funeral Home.

Glenn was a Senior Director of Market Development with Glaxo Smith Kline with 22 years of service. He was raised on Long island, NY and prior to relocating to Cary in 1991 had an extensive career in mental health in Beckley, WV. Most importantly, Glenn loved spending every moment he could at Holden Beach with his family and new grandson.

Glenn is survived by his wife, Rebecca "Becky" Kirchner; sons, Kane Kirchner and his wife Emily Brooke Kirchner of Apex, Drew Kirchner, his wife Andrea and Glenn's new grandson, Christian Glenn Kirchner, all of Apex; mother, Dorothy Ray Kirchner of Greenport, NY; sister, Dale Kroepel of Southold, NY; brother, Guy Kirchner of Gales Ferry, CT; Glenn's mother and father in-law, Cleve and Betty Brewer of Prosperity, WV as well as numerous extended family. He was preceded in death by his father, William Carlton Kirchner.
