Obituary of Glenn Waters
Earl Glenn Waters, Jr., 65, of Cary, died Tuesday morning, January 25, 2011 at Rex Health Care.
Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Montlawn Memorial Park with Military Honors.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday.
A native of Raleigh, Glenn worked in the Office of the State Auditor and after retirement was the advance ticket sales auditor for the North Carolina State Fair. He was an active member of Woodhaven Baptist Church in Apex serving on the Stewardship committee as well as church treasurer. Glenn served his country with the United States Navy and loved cooking and golfing.
Glenn is survived by his wife, Ondra Honeycutt Waters of the home; step son, James Gregory Wrench and his wife Tracy, his granddaughter, Kacey Wrench and grandson, Jansen Wrench, all of Dunn; brothers, Larry Ray Waters and his wife Diane of Cary; Kenneth Wayne Waters and his wife Kathy of Raleigh; parents, Earl Waters and Lydia Davis Waters of Raleigh; eight nieces, five nephews, eight great nieces and four great nephews; sister in-law, Jerline Best and her husband Wilbert of Clinton; brothers in-law, Paul Honeycutt and his wife Lane and Tony Honeycutt and his wife Maedean, both of Salemburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to further Multiple Myeloma research at Duke University Medical Center in Glenn's memory at: Julia Hoyle, Division of Cellular Therapy, DUMC 3961, Durham, North Carolina 27710.
