Obituary of Gordon Young

MSgt. Gordon K. Young, 79, passed away Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh.

Family will receive friends 2:00pm, Saturday, May 22 at Montlawn Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow in Montlawn Memorial Park at 3:00pm.

Gordon retired from the United States Marine Corps after 21 years of service. Upon his retirement, he moved to Raleigh where he worked for the City of Raleigh Traffic Lights Division, Burns Security Company, and then Corns-Melton TV as a TV Repairman. Gordon was also a proud member of the Marine Corps League, Carry-on Detachment 1236.

Gordon is survived by his loving wife, Judy; stepson, Steve Levy and wife Angela; stepdaughter, Lisa Johnson and husband Rob; son, Thomas Young and wife Mary Beth; daughters Priscilla Speed and Ramona Young; grandchildren, Megan and Amanda Levy, Josh and Darryl Johnson, Zachary and Matthew Young, Adrian, Morgan and Logan Anderson; 2 great grandchildren; brother, Holms Young of Lincoln, NE; sisters, Betty Fuller and husband Mel of Franklin, NE, Bonnie Rodgers of Lincoln, NE, Barbara Little of Mobile, AL, and many nieces and nephews.
