Gwendolyn Byrd Harris, 82, passed away Monday, February 11, 2019.  Born in Sampson County, she was the daughter of Granville Carter Byrd and Cassie Williford Byrd.  Before retiring, she was employed at Blinson Insurance Agency. She loved and faithfully served the Lord through many years. Some of the ministries were Girls in Action, choir, teaching, Sewing for Christ, Card Ministry, and Young at Heart. She also enjoyed her time with her mall walking group and card group.  She was a loving, kind, outgoing lady who will be missed by many.

Gwendolyn is survived by her daughter, June Wieland and husband, Mark of Cranberry Township, PA; her son, Roy Harris Jr. of Clayton, NC; her grandchildren Eric Wieland, Hayley Wieland, and Kristin Wieland; her sister, Amelia Patterson of Dunn, NC; her brother, Granville C. Byrd Jr. of Dunn, NC; and her brother, Loren Byrd of Dunn, NC.

Family will receive friends between 10:00AM – 11:00AM, Saturday February 16 th at Highland Baptist Church. Services will be held at 11:00AM at Highland Baptist Church, located at 8524 Crowder Road, Raleigh, NC 27603.  The internment will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park, located at 2911 South Wilmington Street, Raleigh, NC 27603.
