Fuquay-Varina

Haynes Keith Martin, 83, affectionately known as HK to his friends, went home to be with his Lord on June 10th, 2020. HK was born in Mullins, South Carolina on April 24th, 1937, to the late Guilford J. and Hazel Martin of Tabor City, NC. HK lived in Fuquay-Varina. HK retired in 1990 as a Sergeant with the Raleigh Police Department. He also served in the North Carolina National Guard. HK was a faithful member of the Hilltop Baptist Church, where he served as an usher and helped with the facility maintenance. He also served for years as the bus driver for Southeastern Free Will Baptist College in Wendell, NC.

HK was preceded in death by his parents, infant great-grandson and numerous members of his extended family of in-laws whom he considered to be brothers and sisters. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of sixty-five years, Winetta "Nette" Fipps Martin of Fuquay-Varina; his daughter Melanie "Windy" Martin Smith and husband Larry of Fuquay-Varina; his son, Ricky Dale Martin and wife Mary Ann of Willow Spring; four grandchildren; and nine great-grand children.

A visitation will be held on Friday, June 12th, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Hilltop Baptist Church, 10212 Fayetteville Road, Fuquay-Varina, NC. Funeral services will be held at Hilltop Baptist Church on Saturday, June 13th at 2:00 pm. Burial will be at Montlawn Cemetery in Raleigh.
