Hazel Stevens went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 3, 2021.  She passed peacefully at her home surrounded by loved ones.

Hazel was preceded in death by her parents Otha and Lucy Pace, a brother McGee and sisters Dorothy, Marjorie and Fannie. She shared 43 years with her husband, Fred, before his death in 1992.

She is survived by her son Wayne (Wanda) of Raleigh, daughter Cathy Bryant of Angier and daughter Joy King (Tim) of Apex who refused to leave her side.

Mema dearly loved her six grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Two granddogs entertained her occasionally.

Many nieces and nephews promise to keep her memory alive. She was treasured by numerous friends whom she worked, traveled and golfed with over the years. Some she will see in heaven but, those who remain will certainly miss her kindness and good home cooking.

A graveside service officiated by Pastor Rex Watkins will be held at noon on February 9, 2021 at Montlawn Memorial Park, 2911 South Wilmington Street, Raleigh, NC 27603. Social distancing and face masks required. Informal visitation will be held Monday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hazel's lifelong church, Caraleigh Baptist, 1400 Green Street, Raleigh, NC 27603 or a charity of your choosing.

The family would like to thank Hazel's companion caregivers and Transitions HospiceCare for their assistance this last month.
