IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Helen Stallings
Bauer
August 29, 1933 – August 28, 2025
Helen Stallings Bauer was called to Heaven by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 28, 2025, where she was reunited with her beloved husband, Al.
Born to Robert and Ola Stallings, Helen was originally from Middlesex, NC, before she moved to Raleigh. She met and fell in love with a handsome US Marine named Al, whom she married in 1953. Their sweet marriage lasted 68 years until Al's passing in 2021. They were the perfect example of what marriage should be. They had two daughters that they adored. Throughout their childhood years, Helen took her daughters on frequent shopping trips, watched them swim, cheer and march in the band. She loved sewing clothes for her girls, making them stand for what seemed like hours so she could pin everything perfectly. Helen was a wonderful role model for her children, taking them to church, teaching them to cook, to be kind, and how to be ladies. They were her whole world until the grandchildren arrived. While still maintaining her status as wife and mother, she added "Granny" and "Wawee" to her titles. She loved her grandchildren with all her heart. Helen didn't really enjoy sports, yet she went to their countless soccer games, lacrosse games, swim meets, and baseball games. She attended dance recitals and gymnastics meets. It didn't matter to her what the event was, it just mattered that it was her grandchild participating in it.
Helen loved her yard, always pointing out how pretty the flowers and trees were. She loved her church and was very active in her seniors group. Left to cherish the memories of Helen are her daughter Kim Crutchfield and her husband Paul, daughter Toni Cox and her husband Richard, many grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, we request that donations be made to Tunnel2Towers (T2T.org), St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org) or Dementia Society of America (dementiasociety.org).
