Obituary of Henry Doctor

Henry Ervin Doctor was the oldest of six children born to Ella Fryer and Birdie Doctor. He was born in Waterboro, South Carolina, October 21, 1918. He attended school in Ruffin, South Carolina. After leaving school, he worked in farming and the turpentine mills. He left South Carolina and moved to New York in 1938, where he worked until his retirement in 1983. He met and married Sarah Harris in 1963 until her death in 1984. He then met and married Juanita Cannon in 1985 until her passing in 1987. In 1989, he met Fannie Worrell at White Star Baptist Church in Queens, New York. They both moved to Raleigh, North Carolina in 1990 and were married in 1991. He was a devoted, loving husband until her death in 2007. Henry attended Bethlehem Baptist Church in Raleigh, North Carolina where he served as a deacon and a member of the men's choir until his death.

On Monday morning, July 12, 2010, Henry was called home.

Henry is survived by sisters, Mary Lou Ballance, Jessie Busch and Esther Jackson and their families, stepchildren; James Wesley Young, Eugene Heyward, Marilyn Heyward, and their families and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews and many friends.
