Henry Donaldson, 79, of Raleigh passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at home. Henry was born in Eastman, Georgia on a boiling hot 103 degree July day (as he loved to remind people) to the late Calphery and Inez Donaldson.

Henry was a simple, quiet, loving man who loved his wife Joyce and was her sole caretaker later in her life. As they were able, he and Joyce loved to travel to the beach and to Florida. They took many pictures of their travels and times together! As long as he was driving and the roads didn't get too curvy to make him carsick, he was good to go. He loved his church family at Temple Baptist Church, accepted Christ as his savior in 1996, and was baptized the same evening that he was saved.

No one loved his family like Henry. His only child, Beth, her husband Tommy, and grandsons Ethan and Ty survive him and cherish memories of their daddy and PaPa. He will be missed terribly, but they know that he was thrilled to be quickly reunited with Joyce. His memory will live on with breakfasts at Bojangles, lots of afternoon naps, a Miller High Life shared with friends, and the wearing of lots of bright Hawaiian shirts.
