Obituary of Herman Taylor
Herman Weldon "Smut" Taylor, 78, of Raleigh, died Friday morning, September 14, 2012 at his home.
Funeral Service will be held 12 Noon Monday at Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Montlawn Memorial Park with military honors.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
A native of Sampson County, "Smut" was born September 26, 1933, the son of John William and Beulah Bradshaw Taylor. He was retired from Neuse Tile Company and was a member of Neuse Baptist Church. He proudly served his country in the United States Army.
"Smut" is survived by his wife, Mary Sue Taylor; children, Beverly Mecum (Dennis), Tony Taylor (Theresa) and Kris May (David), all of Raleigh; his beloved grandchildren, Shannon, David, Erin, Jansen, Jenna, Kylie, Taylor and Rachel as well as his twin sister, Ola Parker of Raleigh and Eula Mattocks of Clinton.
