Hilda Gray
Campbell
October 21, 1944 – April 7, 2026
Hilda Gray Campbell, 81, of Raleigh, NC passed away peacefully April 7, 2026. She was born in Fayetteville, NC on October 21, 1944, to the late Robert Franklin Campbell and Arlie Thomas Campbell.
She is also preceded in death by her brother Algie Winfred Campbell.
Hilda graduated from Needham Broughton High School in 1962. She went on to earn her degree at Hardbarger Business College and retired from Farm Bureau Insurance.
Hilda is survived by her loving daughters, Lisa Campbell and Stephanie Campbell Pond (Rob); her brother, Robert F. Campbell, Jr.; and her cherished granddaughter, Addison.
Hilda had a deep passion for creativity and craftsmanship, leaving behind not only a remarkable collection of fabric, yarn, needles, sewing machines, quilts, crochet, knitting, cross-stitch, and needlepoint. More important were the treasured memories made with friends and family while creating them. Hilda brought a true spice of life to everyone around her.
She also found joy in life’s simple pleasures, beach trips, mountain adventures, day trips in search of quilt shops, and time with her craft groups.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to her caregivers, including friends, the staff at The Blair, and Transitions for their compassion and support.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in honor of Hilda Campbell to Transitions LifeCare, either online at www.transitionslifecare.org/donate or by mail.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Montlawn Funeral Home.
