Hiram Thomas Brannan, 83, died peacefully on Saturday at Transitions Life Care. He was born on July 12, 1931 in Carabelle, FL. He served in the US Navy on the USS Bennington as well as the US Air Force Reserves. Thomas was employed with the US Postal Service and was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, Raleigh.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Bobbie Carolyn Williams; children, Steve Brannan of Raleigh and Terri Totty and husband Tim of Estill Springs, TN; grandchildren, Stephanie Brannan of Clayton, Ashley Gessler and husband Jason of Owens Crossroads, AL, Dustin Brannan and wife Megan of Raleigh, Beverly Massengill of Franklin, TN, Christopher Massengill of Estill Springs, TN and Holly Brannan of Raleigh; great-grandchildren, Franklin, Addyson, Skyler and Kaden.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at Montlawn Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7-8:30 pm on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Transitions Lifecare, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607.
