Howard Douglas (Doug) Maidon passed away unexpectedly in his home in Cary, NC at the age of 76.

Doug is survived by his wife, Mary Jo of Cary and his three daughters Laura Brookins of Apex, Lisa Maidon of Willow Spring and Leslie Pierce of Cary.  Seven grandchildren: Matthew, Meredith, Caitlin and JT Brookins, Morgan and Blake Bevelacqua and Skylar Pierce. Son in laws: Trace Brookins and Walt Pierce.  Doug is also survived by his sister: Rixie Geiselman of New Smyrna Beach, Florida; his brothers: Johnny Maidon of Fuquay and Charles Maidon of Apex and his aunt Gertrude Harris of Fuquay.

He was born on August 18, 1941 to Roosevelt and Bessie Maidon of Johnston County NC and moved to Raleigh as a young boy.  He joined the military at age 18 and served in the Army 82 ^nd Airborne Special Forces for six (6) years.

Visitation is scheduled for Thursday August 9, 2018 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 10005 Lake Wheeler Rd. Fuquay Varina, NC 27526 at 11:00 am.  Funeral services immediately following.  Internment is held at Montlawn Cemetery 2911 S.
