Howard Earl Terwilliger 

January 21, 1943 – April 25, 2026 Age 83

The family of Howard Earl Terwilliger is saddened to announce his passing peacefully after a brief illness on April 25, 2026. He was Born in Waverly Barton, Tioga County New York in 1943, one of four children of Robert and Aimee Terwilliger. He graduated from Tioga Central High School and from Mohawk Valley Community College.  He was employed by IBM for many years. IBM brought him and his family to Cary, NC in 1978 where he remained until his passing. After retiring from IBM he then worked along side his loving wife, Terry helping to run Terry’s Tire Center in Cary until it’s closing.

He enjoyed following many sports, including NASCAR, NC State and many other college and professional teams. He was an avid outdoors man, hunting, fishing and the like. He could fix and build or repair just about anything. He shared this knowledge with his sons and anyone he worked alongside.

Howard is survived by by his sister Jean Hefft of NY, his children, Michelle A. Collier (Kevin), Charles (Chris), Stephen, Theresa (Jeff). Howard is blessed to be survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Theresa (Terry) Terwilliger, and son, Thomas John Terwilliger.
