Hugh Cecil Bass, 72, passed away, Tuesday, May 2, 2017. He was born in Raleigh on November 7, 1944 to the late William A. and Mary Shaw Bass.
Hugh served six years in the NC National Guard, served over thirty years as a volunteer Firefighter and Emergency Medical Technician with Six Forks Fire & Rescue in Raleigh, NC. Hugh earned his private pilots license and flew planes for many years.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 45 years, Mary Lou Bass; his son Aaron and wife Christy Bass. Grandchildren; Sara and Eric Bass, Brother Ashley Bass, and sisters: Judy Lee and Janet Bass all of Raleigh.
A celebration of his life will be held Monday, May 15, 2017 at 7:00 pm at Montlawn Funeral Home; the family will receive friends and family following the service. In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to Amedisys Home Health and Hospice Care.
