Obituary of Ida Eaton

Ida Mae Eaton, 75, of Augusta, GA, formerly of Jonesville, passed away Monday, September 12, 2011 in Augusta where she had been living with her daughter due to her declining health.

Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Montlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Friday.

A native of Wake Forest, Ida was born December 18, 1935, the daughter of the late William Joseph and Grattie Hartsfield Dunn. She was a member of Giving Grace, Inc. in Garysburg and the Universal Church of Prayer and Deliverance in Wake Forest. At the age of 55, Ida went back to school and earned her CNA degree and continued her life's work of caring for others.

Ida is survived by her daughter, Renee Serling (Ortez) of Augusta, GA; sons, Joseph Ellis Eaton, Jr. (Felecia) of Montclair, NJ, Mark Samuel Eaton (Cheryl) and Orlando Jamaal Eaton (Darlene) all of Raleigh; siblings, James William Dunn (Velma), Allie Vee Jones (Charles), Gretta Louise Ferrell (Charles), Cleven Lee Dunn (Bertha), Bonnie Ree Montague (Wallace); 14 grandchidren; 4 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Ida was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Eaton and her daughters, Janet Shelia Moore and Frankie Joyce Jones.
