On the morning of August 8th, 2019 Ivan "Ivo" Jurak of Duncan, NC passed away at the age of 68. Ivan was born to Barbara & Josip Jurak in 1950 in Croatia. He moved to the United States in 1974 after receiving his high school diploma and serving in the federal military.

Ivan began his working days in the US with his family at Don Jenkins Carolina Ford in Fuquay Varina as an auto body perfectionist. From there, he began his own business in the timber industry. Ivan was a devoted animal lover and outdoor enthusiast. He was also an avid collector of motorcycles, cars, and drones. When he was not working and upon retiring, he found great joy in restoring many of these items and, of course, fishing with his friends. He was known for his good sense of humor and his contagious laughter among his family and loved ones.

Ivan was passionate about Old Testament scripture and diligently teaching himself Hebrew in his later years. He strived to live a life of simplicity and great character.

He was briefly married with no children and he leaves behind his elder sister, Kata Jenkins of Raleigh & elder bother, Stjepan Jurak and his wife, Micika whom still reside in Croatia.

He is also survived by his niece, Nina Milano and her husband, Mario, his nephew's wife, Jill their children, Max & Ava Jenkins, along with his special friend, Phyllis Brown.

A public memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday Aug 12th, 2019 at Montlawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home.
