Jack Benny Dodd, Jr., 89, died Monday, February 29, 2016 at his residence. He was a US Army Air Corp Veteran and retired truck driver with NC Box Company. Benny was a devoted member of the Salvation Army Church and especially enjoyed the Thursday Senior Adult Ministry. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Benny was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Lou Wilkins Dodd in 2012.
Surviving are his son, Kenneth E. Dodd and wife Smithy of Raleigh; grandchildren, Daniel Dodd and Laura Dodd Dunn and husband Brandon; two great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held 11 m Thursday, March 3, 2016 at Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10-11 am Thursday prior to the service.
