Oct 25, 1939 — May 22, 2019
Cary
Jacquelyn 'Jackie' Edwina Clark ran the good race and now rests peacefully in a place where she will be able once again to enjoy laughter, line-dancing, golfing, biking, tennis, and traveling. Jackie, aged 79, passed away Wednesday evening, May 22, 2019, at Rex Rehab in Apex, NC, after a long illness. Holding Jackie close in their hearts are her son, Jack III (wife Danielle); daughter, Charlotte (husband Todd); grandchildren (Cami, Tony, and Katie, of whom Jackie was immensely proud); sister Melony Bush; sister-in-law Barbara Hinton; and numerous loved ones and friends.
Jackie is preceded by her mother, Clara Hinton; her father, MSgt William Hinton (USAF, Ret.); and brother, CW4 William Hinton (USA, Ret.). J
Jackie was born in Birmingham, AL, and traveled the world growing up in a military family. She graduated from high school in Ankara, Turkey, and met her soon-to-be husband, Jack M. Clark, Jr., while in college in Munich, Germany.
They were married in June of 1959 and had two children. Whenever there was a family event or activity, Jackie could be seen smiling and cheering, especially for her beloved grandchildren. Jackie not only cheered on her loved ones, she enjoyed a life of adventure of her own. She proudly served the Department of the Army as a Budget Analyst on the US Army's Chaparral Missile Program at Redstone Arsenal, AL. She earned her Bachelor of Accounting degree at Athens State University, Athens, AL. She happily traveled from Huntsville, AL, to Hawaii, New Zealand, Australia, Central America, the Caribbean, and Europe.
An avid lover of exercise and the outdoors, she could be seen enthusiastically caring for her yard, jogging in her neighborhood, line-dancing, biking, playing tennis, and, of course, sunning by a pool or the beach, with Panama City Beach, FL, being one of her favorites. Jackie always found great comfort with her church communities of Grace United Methodist Church, Huntsville, AL, and Crosspointe Church, Cary, NC. Jackie especially loved her community at Carolina Preserve, where she enjoyed visiting with friends at Happy Hour, performing in line dancing programs, and participating in their many exercise and travel excursions. Jackie's family expresses profound gratitude and appreciation for the wonderful team at
Rex Rehab for their years loving and caring for Jackie.
A celebration of Jackie's life will be held at Crosspointe Church, Cary, NC, on July 10, 2019, at 3 pm.
