Obituary of James Cannon

James Alfred "Jimmy" Cannon, Jr., 70, of Raleigh died Sunday morning, September 12, 2010 at Rex Healthcare.

A Graveside Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Montlawn Memorial Park.

A native of Wake County, Jimmy was born June 8, 1940, the son of the late James and Elizabeth Habit Cannon. Jimmy was a retired real estate broker with York Simpson Underwood Realty and was a successful businessman, owning several restaurants and an exercise salon.

Jimmy is survived by his aunts and uncles, Margaret Habit and the late Al Habit of Virginia Beach, VA, Lena Habit Griffin and the late Claude Griffin of Edenton; cousins, Eddie and Cathy Habit and their children; Cindy and Rick Miller and their daughter; April and Al Habit, Jr. and their children; Joey and Jennifer Habit and their children, all of Virginia Beach; Carol and John Eisenhower and their children of Charlotte; MaryAnn and Jamie Fagel and their children; Wayne E. Maroon, Jr., and Ashley Maroon, all of Raleigh; Michele and Miller Barefoot and their children of Benson as well as many friends too numerous to mention.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Strickland Cannon in 2004 as well as several aunts and uncles.
